CeCe is an independent piano teacher in Paradise Valley, Arizona. She comes to piano teaching from a unique background. CeCe was a principal dancer with Utah Ballet and received an MFA in Ballet Pedagogy/Choreography from the University of Utah. She has served on faculty with many prestigious studios, including the Ballet West Conservatory and the Washington School of Ballet. Additionally, CeCe taught in the Dance Departments at the University of Utah and Arizona State University. This specialized teaching background brings a richer experience to CeCe’s students. She teaches that piano is choreography, that it is in specially designed movement that
music is created and expressed. Her background provides for a unique study of the piano at the beginning and intermediate level.
CeCe has trained on the piano since she was a child, most recently as a student of Charlene Jarvis who has served as a mentor teacher for over 10 years. Under Ms. Jarvis’ encouragement, CeCe completed several piano pedagogy classes at Mesa Community College and established her studio. CeCe is an active member of the PMTA (Phoenix Music Teachers Association) and the MTNA (Music Teachers National Association).
Music and dance allow emotion to come alive. They allow a remarkable auditory and visual sharing of one’s feelings. These arts, music and ballet, are my passion. I love putting highly technical skills together in a way that become inspiring and allow others to feel the meaning within them. My passion for teaching comes from my desire to inspire new generations to love the creation of artistic emotion.
